Concealed-Carry

Home on the Range is proud to offer Kansas Concealed-Carry. Classes are 8 hours long and include a written test and range qualification. All class materials are provided. Participants are required to provide proof of residence, a legal and functioning firearm, as well as their own ammunition. The cost of the class is $100 and includes lunch, coffee, soft drinks and iced tea. In order to apply for a concealed-carry permit from the State of Kansas, the applicant must show proof of completion of a concealed-carry class, must visit his county sheriff’s office to be fingerprinted ($32.50) and must mail a check for $100 (along with his application) to the Attorney General’s office.

Class instruction includes but is not limited to:

I. BASIC INTRODUCTION TO HANDGUNS, SAFE HANDLING AND STORAGE OF FIREARMS
II. FIREARM CARE AND MAINTENANCE
III. LEGAL ISSUES RELATING TO THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE
IV. USE OF DEADLY FORCE – PREPAREDNESS FOR CONFRONTATIONS
V. FIREARM MANIPULATION, MARKSMANSHIP AND PRACTICE
VI. WRITTEN TEST
VII. RANGE QUALIFICATION
VIII. OVERALL EVALUATION
