Revolver vs. Pistol
When purchasing a handgun, many people wonder about the age old question of Pistol vs. Handgun. In reality, the choice usually comes down to preference. To help you out, we have compiled some basic information that might help steer you in the right direction.
Revolvers
Revolvers come in a large array of calibers, from .22 to the Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum. They are a good introductory gun in the fact that they are easy to use, and inherently safe. Revolvers come in either Single Action (Manually cocked) or Double Action (Longer and heavier trigger pull). In addition, they now have a firing pin block which prevents accidental discharge if dropped.
Pistols
Pistols come in a wide array of styles and calibers which gives you the shooter a more extensive array of options for both shooting and concealed carry. In addition, they come in both striker fired or hammer fired, and can be outfitted with a large capacity magazines, holding up to 20 rounds.
